2D Buffeting of the Great Belt Bridge
The animation shows a one-to-one comparison of the 2D buffeting response generated by a semi-analytical aerodynamic model and a CFD model, both of which are subjected to synthetic free-stream turbulence.
The CFD simulation is performed using Guido Morgenthal’s VXflow, including my extention VXturb for free-stream turbulence; the analytical simulation is performed my in-house code AWind.
